We were approached by a development and refurbishment contractor who was carrying out a contract in Wolverhampton for a client whom had very specific requirements for both security and access. The client required rear access to their building that provided access internally and externally but also required the doors to be fire exits and DDA compliant for its members of staff that required wheelchair access.
During our consultation from tender stage right through to contract completion we liased with both the contractor, the architect and the end users to establish a perfect fit for purposes product that met with building regulations.
We designed and installed three double steel doorsets complete with steel frames that were not only aesthetically pleasing but also met all the requirements for both security and access. We achieved this by installing internal panic pad systems with external locking knob sets, we also incorporated DDA compliant non trip aluminium thresholds, thus enabling doors to be opened from inside and outside. We were also able to make the one door leaf 1100 internal width to allow for wheelchair access.
